The character of a 1930s residence alongside the cream of contemporary design ; the charm of a large garden and the attractions of the city – opposites combine to create balance and harmony.<\/p>\n

Our house dates back to the 20th century, completed just before the Second World War. Fifteen months of renovation work were needed to bring L’Autre Rives up to date and adapt it to its new function – that of welcoming guests, allowing them to recharge their batteries and discover our beautiful city of Albi and the treasures of the Tarn department.<\/p>\n

We have preserved the most beautiful elements of the house (marble fireplaces, art deco moldings, herringbone shaped parquet flooring and the oak staircase – a veritable backbone of the house – and the mosaic flooring) and combined them with contemporary furniture and pieces.<\/p>\n

Have you noticed the sloping slate roof, which is unusual in the region, giving it an imposing appearance and enabling you to spot it from afar, from the other side of the Tarn ?<\/p>\n

We’re both from the south-west of France. We left to finish our studies and work in Paris and then decided, after some twenty years, to return to our roots and be closer to our families.
